OOPS : Photoshop Fails !

A few major 'photoshop fails' have popped up recently in the media. Some are funny, other's just embarrassing for the publisher, designer and model. Most recent in the news has been the 'Kate Moss's daughter vogue airbrushing blunder'.

I thought I would share some other examples of where photoshop and airbrushing photos has turned out terribly wrong! :) I really do feel fashion magazine's do go way overboard alot of the time. Most of which is unecessary as you will see below. Click on the images to view larger versions.

VOGUE'S AIRBRUSHING BLUNDER:

Here It seems an overly enthusiastic designer has photoshopped Kate Moss' daughter Lila grace’s hand, leaving her with only two fingers and a thumb! You can read more about this disaster here.

In this example Vogue seem to have made model Angela Linvdall have a very elongated neck!

TARGET TANGLE:

Can you spot it? Seems this guy can't keep all his hands to himself ! I wonder if Target makes their winter woolies in a 3 armed version too? By the look on that woman's face makes you wonder if there is another arm that's gone missing?.. ok i'll stop now ;) read more

BLOOMING BLUNDER:

Bloomingdales turned a perfectly innocent model into a mutant. Photo finishers have given her a very pointy, freaky looking elbow.  read more

NOT QUITE NAKED?:

Model Irina Shayk claims GQ Spain Photoshopped the underwear right off  and that she never posed nude at all. She's taking the Spanish magazine to court over the pics. read more

BIT TOO MUCH FOR BIEBER:

All I can say is...... Wow! Do I need say more? Looks like the Proactiv Solution is doing more for Bieber in this pic than he bargained for. ;)

ANN TAYLOR'S AT IT AGAIN:

Seems that the designers at Ann Taylor online are becoming quite the serial photoshop blunderers.. If there is even such a word ;) A missing arm and a freakishly tiny waist! Ugh! read more

SWANEPOEL'S SPECIAL SWIMMERS SHOULDERS:

Victoria's Secret are also renowned for their airbrushing techniques like shown here! Model Candice Swanepoel's shoulder joint appears to be disconnected from the rest of her body. I've seen some serious swimmers shoulders but this just looks wrong! Eww..


ALBA LEAKED:

This Campari campaign morphed Jessica Alba into a much thinner version of herself. While she looks great in both images, if the originals hadn't been leaked no one may have known.

LOSE CURVES .. AND MAYBE SOME COLOUR?

Ummmm did someone photoshop the wrong stomache on this lady or do you think she is she wearing an undershirt?

HONEY I SHRUNK YOUR SISTER:

Khloe Kardashian is noticeably taller than both Kim and Kourtney. Khloe, who at 5'10 normally towers over her pint-sized sisters. Here she is apparently shrunk down to "fit" the frame for this Sears campaign shot by Annie Leibovitz.

Even though Kim admits to love being curvy and appears to show no shame, this image that Complex.com accidentally posted on their site would have people thinking otherwise. The right image shows her somewhat slimmed and smoothed appearance.


LOST LIMB:

A case of the disappearing arm! Where on earth is Kristen Stewart hiding that thing?

SKINNY MINNY:

Nordstrom messed up with the unrealistic waist on their online store image selling a Ralph Lauren Polo shirt.

The fashion label Ralf Lauren also received harsh criticism for these images featuring emaciated looking models.

FREAKY FACE LIFT:

Looks like instead of receiving a face lift this model has gone for a complete 'face lift off'. This is a catalogue ad from H&M.

DUCHESS DILEMMA:

Some were shocked at Kate Middleton's frail frame in her Alexander McQueen gown on her wedding day. But a Grazia magazine retoucher decided to take it up a notch by airbrushing her already tiny waist, to look just like a life-size Barbie's instead. It seems that Grazia has tried to trick us into thinking the Duchess has the worlds smallest waist. read more

LOOK MY HEAD'S ON WRONG:

Notice anything weird about this Rihanna cover of Look magazine? Looks like someone had a head swap. Wonder what was wrong with her head in the pink dress to make the magazine do that!

SIMPLY NOT BE :

SimpleBe, a UK brand known for catering to plus sizes, has photoshopped this models hand into, what appears to be, a nasty looking claw.

VERY UN-VUITTON:

If you have eagle eyes then you may notice that the reflection doesn't match the scene in this Louis Vuitton handbag advertisement.


MIRACULOUS MAYOR MCCALLION:

Even the newspapers get it wrong. Another case of the miraculous ability to instantly grow limbs through the use of photoshop.

WHAT WHEEL?

Just as the added caption says. Well apparently according to this Turkish Airlines advertisement.

“Remember, remember, the Fifth of November” – history buffs (and pretty much all the people who read or watched V for Vendetta) will no doubt associate that line with Guy Fawkes, instigator of the Gunpowder Treason, and a modern-day mascot for the concept of Anarchy. But now we’re forced to do more than just remember the Fifth of November; we’re forced to either dread it or anticipate it – depending on which side you take. The hacker group, “Anonymous”, famous for their acts of “Hacktivism”, has vowed todestroy Facebook on the 5^th of November.

They released a video message saying that “the medium of communication we all so dearly adore will be destroyed”. How they plan to do this, they didn’t say. But if history is to be based upon, then you can expect them to literally take down Facebook and make it unavailable, just as they have previously done to government websites and also some corporate websites such as Sony, possibly through a DDoS Attack.


 
Of course, that’s only going to happen if Facebook fails to thwart them; and with nearly three months of fair warning given, it’s likely that the social networking site will reinforce its defenses. It certainly won’t be the first time that this group has been blocked, as the Israeli government’s Tehila has proved successful in doing so just this June 28 when the group promised to take the site down within the next 24 hours, only to have the next 24 hours pass without incident.

Still, successful or not, Anonymous has already received much attention from the ‘netizens’, and has gotten its message across; the message being that Facebook is not to be trusted. They have accused the company of selling our information to government agencies and giving clandestine access to security firms, firms which work for governments, such as those of Egypt and Syria, among others.

They also said that security settings are a sham and that what we post on Facebook stays on Facebook, regardless of whether or not we delete it. They also say that it’s impossible to delete our Facebook accounts, and that even if we try to do so, the information still stays on the site and can be recovered anytime. This last bit is pretty much true, as you’ll find out if you try to deactivate your account and reactivate it. Whether their other allegations are true or not, however, is still a big question mark.

“Facebook knows more about you than your family”, warns Anonymous ominously on the video, “You are not safe from hem nor from any government.” Anonymous claims that one day we will look back and realize that what they have done is right and that they are not harming us, but actually “saving” us. They closed the message by telling everyone to prepare for November 5, 2011 – a day which will go down in history and, of course, with their signature “We are anonymous, we are legion, we do not forgive, we do not forget. Expect us.”

'Dead alien' found in Siberian snow after 'glowing pink and blue lights' crash from sky

Incredible footage has emerged of what a group of Russians claim is the remains of a mangled alien.

The Sun reports the lifeless "body" was found in snow in the Irkutsk region of southern Siberia following reports of a "pink and blue glowing object" which crashed from the sky. The "extra-terrestrial" appears to have lost a limb.

Even the country's Emergencies Ministry staff have investigated the incident after investigators said no aircraft were reported in the area.

Search and rescue teams found no evidence of an aircraft crash. So is it a fake? "Why do all aliens have to be naked?" one commentor pointedly asked.The strange clip of the discovery has now been seen by nearly 1.5 million people in the two days since it was uploaded on April 17. "FAIL. Sorry...so fake," another wrote. But the same writer was quick to qualify her comments.

"Do aliens exist? Certainly ... I believe they do. But not in this video."

The Easter bunny came early this year for a few scientists working on the Spanish island of Minorca (see map).

The team has just announced the discovery of Earth's biggest known rabbit species, an oddly unbunny-like giant dubbed Nuralagus rex—"the Minorcan king of the hares."

The 26-pound (12-kilogram) prehistoric species was about six times bigger than the common European rabbit, found on most continents, according to an analysis of several bones. Study leader Josep Quintana is no stranger to giant Minorcan rabbit fossils, though it took a while before he knew exactly how big a find he'd uncovered.

"When I found the first bone I was 19 years old, I was not aware what this bone represented. I thought it was a bone of the giant Minorcan turtle!" said Quintana, a paleontologist at the Institut Català de Palentologia in Barcelona.

The animal, which lived about three to five million years ago, had several "odd" features that have never before been seen in rabbits, living or extinct, according to the study.

For one, the giant rabbit's "short and stiff" vertebral column meant it couldn't bunny hop. And the relatively small sizes of sense-related areas of its skull suggested that the animal had small eyes and stubby ears—a far cry frommodern rabbit ears (see picture.)

"I think that N. rex would be a rather clumsy rabbit walking," Quintana said. "Imagine a beaver out of water."

Despite its oddities, N. rex has many skull and teeth features found in rabbits—meaning there’s “no question” it’s a rabbit, according to Brian Kraatz, an expert in rabbit evolution at the Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California.

“Really, this is a rather typical rabbit head [albeit large] stuck on an atypical rabbit body,” said Kraatz, who was not involved in the study.

Giant Rabbit Was Early "Beach Bum"?

The newfound rabbit's "roly-poly, tanklike" appearance and weird anatomy may have arisen because of its stress-free lifestyle, Kraatz added.

That's because the megarabbit had no predators on Minorca—a luxury that allowed the species to evolve to be bigger and more sedentary he said. Modern rabbits are small, spry, and have sharp vision to escape predators.

"He was probably on an evolutionary vacation," said Kraatz, like an "islander beach bum."

Yet, even though the giant rabbit "didn't have too many cares or worries," Kraatz said, "he got too comfortable, and eventually went extinct."

The new giant-rabbit fossil study appeared in the March Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology.

IT was a Christmas surprise that 10-year-old Freya McAuliffe did not have on her wish list.

The Mitcham girl was left heartbroken on the most festive day of the year after waking to find her pet rabbit Bubbles writhing in pain.

The bunny had contracted myxomatosis and died a few hours later.

The highly contagious disease then spread to the family’s other rabbit Millie, who was also put down on New Year’s Eve.

Myxomatosis causes lumps and puffiness around the head of rabbits, leading to possible blindness and death within 48 hours.

It is spread by bites from fleas or mosquitoes that have fed on an infected rabbit.

An available vaccine is illegal in Australia for fear it could be transmitted through the wild rabbit population.

Freya is starting a petition asking federal Agriculture Minister Joe Ludwig to allow the vaccine.

“I was thinking about all the other pet owners that have had this happen to them,” she said.

“Dogs can be vaccinated for all the diseases they have so why can’t you get it for rabbits?”

Freya’s mother, Janine, said she knew many other families left shattered by the disease.

“It’s becoming such an epidemic at the moment,” she said.

“We feel it’s unfair when we are responsible pet owners.

“If there was a virus that was spread to dogs and cats and they went through excruciating pain and you had to put them down there would be an outcry.”
